How To Register MTN Mobile Money PIN Recovery Number

Before you can be able to reset your MTN Mobile Money PIN, you will have to add your PIN recovery number first, and have full control on resetting your MoMo PIN.

  1. Dial *170# on your mobile phone
  2. Choose option 6 – My Wallet
  3. Select option 5 – Change & Reset PIN
  4. Select Option 2 – Reset PIN
  5. Select Option 1 – Self PIN Reset
  6. Enter any of your number to add as recovery number. It does not matter whether this phone number is other mobile network – but should be an active number and different from your current mobile number.
  7. Enter your current MoMo PIN code to confirm
  8. Enter the OTP (One Time Password) that has been sent to your recovery number

How To Reset MTN Mobile Money PIN

After setting a recovery number first, you can now reset your MTN Mobile Money PIN and you can follow the steps below.

  1. Dial *170# on your mobile phone
  2. Choose option 6 – My Wallet
  3. Select Option 5 – Change & Reset PIN
  4. Select Option 2 – Reset PIN
  5. Select Option 1 – Self PIN Reset
  6. Select option 1 – Add Recovery Contact
  7. Select Option 4 – Reset PIN
  8. Now, a temporal PIN will be sent to your recovery number
  9. Enter the temporal PIN
  10. Now, input the four-digit new numbers you would prefer to use as your PIN code and repeat the code.

MTN Ghana does not allow you to use the same code used previously for your MTN MoMo service.
