The popular Instant Messaging App, WhatsApp has confirmed to us having 2 billion users and connecting the world privately with the power of the internet.
Per the information sighted in a blog post on the official page of WhatsApp, the company confirms it now has 2 Billion users across the globe.
In an excitement to users across the globe, this is what WhatsApp has for us:
“We are excited to share that, as of today, WhatsApp supports more than two billion users around the world,” says the company.
“Private conversations that once were only possible face-to-face can now take place across great distances through instant chats and video calling,” the company added.
Brief about WhatsApp:
- It was launched in 2009. In 2014, WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook for almost $21.8 billion at a time when the messaging app already had 500 million users.
- Today, WhatsApp announced that it has reached the 2 billion users milestone. Since the acquisition, WhatsApp has got a lot of features including video call, Snapchat like status, end to end encryption etc.
Up to date, only one social media platform had reached the 2 billion user mark. WhatsApp joins the club as the second social media platform lead by its sister platform Facebook, all under the same company.
WhatsApp is still strong with its end-to-end encryption policy, which makes it impossible for anyone and not even them at WhatsApp to see your chats and messages.
