Surfline Communications Ltd is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of General Ledger and Fixed Assets Officer in our Finance Department.
Key Accountabilities
- Updating the monthly Balance Sheet specification file with all relevant details.
- Reconciliation of Sub Ledgers to the General Ledger.
- Keeping an accurate Monthly Schedule of all Prepayments and Accruals
- Keeping an accurate Monthly Schedule of all Prepayments and Accruals
- Ensuring all Assets are tagged before transferred to the permanent locations
- Carry out a comprehensive Assets verification and tagging exercise at least once a year
- Carry out a comprehensive reconciliation of physical counts of Assets and Fixed Assets Register (FAR) at least once a year.
- Ensure proper and accurate monthly tracking of the Capital Work in Progress (CWIP) Schedule and Ageing analysis.
- Perform Asset costing and Capitalisation on monthly basis.
- Perform Asset depreciation and amortization on a monthly basis.
- Perform a month on month analysis of asset depreciation and amortization.
- Reconcile the General Ledger and the Sub ledger (Fixed Assets Register) on a monthly basis.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Education
A Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Early stages of studying a relevant finance qualification such as ICA, ACCA , CIMA or AAT
Knowledge &Experience:
- Knowledge of principles, practices and standards of finance or accounting
- Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to multi task and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle a pressurised work environment
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Excellent report writing skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Willing to learn, improve and adapt.
