This was made possible when the bank developed a mobile app that can be used by its customers and in this article, we will be taking a look at this app and how to download and use it.

About Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB)

The largest bank in Ghana in terms of operating assets and industry deposits is GCB Bank Limited, formerly known as Ghana Commercial Bank, which accounts for 14.2% of all industry deposits.

The transfer of all UT Bank and Capital Bank (Ghana) deposits and certain assets to GCB Bank Ltd. was authorized by the Bank of Ghana, the nation’s central bank, according to an announcement made in August 2017.

As the Bank of the Gold Coast, it was founded in 1953 and initially had 27 employees. Beginning with Ghanaian traders, farmers, and business owners who were unable to get finance from foreign banks, it turned its attention to them.

The Ghanaian government initially owned the bank in its entirety. However, the Ghana Stock Exchange floated the bank’s stock in 1996, when the government still owned 51.17% of the business.

The bank changed its name to GCB Bank Ltd in 2013, and at the end of 2014, a new brand identity was introduced.

Large enterprises, parastatals, small and medium-sized organizations, as well as individuals, can now get their banking needs met by GCB Bank Ltd.

The bank had 1,532 employees working in branches spread across Ghana’s 10 regions as of December 2016.
