How does cloud computing work in a real technological world?
This is just a brief post to talk about how cloud computing works in a real technological world and what you need to understand about this as a tech or non-tech personnel.
Recently was when I published an article about the Introduction to Cloud Computing and what you never knew about the term Cloud Computing.
In the previous article published, we described more concerning the term cloud computing and some of the key terms that you need to understand. In the post, we explained that Cloud computing is a kind of Internet-based computing application in which data and resources are managed with the practice of using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet to store, manage, and process data, rather than a local server or a personal computer. But in today’s article, it’s all about how Cloud Computing works in the technological world.
How does Cloud Computing Work?
Cloud computing works through information and software stores on physical servers. These are controlled by the server provider.
To understand how cloud computing works, imagine that there are two layers in the cloud – back end layer and front end layer. The front end layer is the one you can see and interact with. How Does Cloud Computing Work?
When you access an e-mail accounts such as Gmail or WebMail, it is possible due to the software running on the front end layer of the cloud. This is also applicable for your Facebook account. The back end consists of hardware and software architecture that helps in visualizing the front end. The cloud computing helps you use files and applications over the internet through connected servers as web-based service around the world.
Through an Internet service connection, cloud storage works by enabling users access and to download data on any chosen device, and such device can be a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Cloud storage users can also edit documents simultaneously with other users as well, making it easier to work away from the office.
In terms of how cloud computing works, there are some major components that have to be present and that is; front end, back end and network. These are the three (3) components that form the cloud computing architecture. The below is a brief description of each of these components.
Components of Cloud Computing
- Front-end: This refers to the client’s computer or mobile device and the application required to access the cloud computing system. In most cases, the application is a web browser although other systems may require special applications.
- Backend: This refers to the computer infrastructure owned by the cloud provider such as computers, servers, operating systems and storage devices. All the data stored in the cloud is usually stored on the storage devices while software applications run on the cloud are run on the computers. Each software application will also have a dedicated server while a central server will be used to monitor traffic and client demands and ensure everything runs smoothly as required.
- Network: This is the key component because it allows the connection of the above two components via the internet.
Cloud computing as you may never know, can be used in virtually every industry to improve efficiency and service delivery and here are a some few tips that you need to read and know about how cloud computing is used. These cases also describe how to use cloud computing for a business organization.
In Wrapping Up!
Technology has improved rapidly in the last few decades leading to the development of advanced products and devices that have forever transformed the way human live and work on this planet. One of these advancements is in the way we store and access our data. From floppy disks to compact disks, to external hard drives, to USB flash drives, data storage, and sharing has undergone a significant transformation over the last fifty years. Data storage devices are becoming cheaper, smaller and with much greater capacity making data handling a painless activity today.
The latest advancement in storage technology is the introduction of cloud computing. One no longer needs a storage device to store files or data. Instead, you can create, save, retrieve and share data from any terminal at any time and place, thanks to cloud computing and this article is all about How Does Cloud Computing Work?
