The first complete built unit (CBU) was produced in 1998, with over 75% of local components, along with the engine block, produced locally. As it stands now, Kantanka cars have the kantanka Amoanimah as the electric car among its collection. Kantanka Amoanimah is available in both an electric and a regular combustion 0.8cc engine, as per Kwadwo Safo Jnr, the CEO of the company.
The Kantanka Amoanimah is priced between Gh40,000 and Gh45,000. Kwadwo Safo Jnr also stated that part payment is permitted, with the remainder stretched out over a 12-month period.
He said: “The Kantanka Amoanimah comes in Electric and normal combustion 0.8cc engine. Price: 40-45k Ghc. You can always make a 50% down payment and the rest will be spread for you. Maximum spread time is 12 months.”
