The world is slowly moving away from cars that consume fuel to environmentally friendly cars like electric cars that have low carbon emissions. Ghana has also caught on the idea of producing electric cars and Kantanka Automobile has spearheaded the move to produce electric cars.
Kantanka Automobile is a Ghana-based automotive company that designs, manufactures, assembles and sells luxury cars, It was founded in 1994 by innovator and religious leader Kwadwo Safo Kantanka as a limited liability corporation to manufacture automotive components and combine them with other parts sourced from component suppliers to form a complete built unit. The first complete built unit (CBU) was produced in 1998, with over 75% of local components, along with the engine block, produced locally. On August 3, 2018, the company opened its first showroom at Achimota near FBN Bank, in the Greater Accra Region.

Are Kantanka Cars Built In Ghana?
Kantanka vehicles are built in Ghana from knock-down kits provided by a Chinese company, likely Foday through Chongqing Big Science & Technology.
Price Of Kantanka Electrixc Cras
As it stands now, Kantanka cars have the kantanka Amoanimah as the electric car among its collection. Kantanka Amoanimah is available in both an electric and a regular combustion 0.8cc engine, as per Kwadwo Safo Jnr, the CEO of the company.
The Kantanka Amoanimah is priced between Gh40,000 and Gh45,000. Kwadwo Safo Jnr also stated that part payment is permitted, with the remainder stretched out over a 12-month period.
He said: “The Kantanka Amoanimah comes in Electric and normal combustion 0.8cc engine. Price: 40-45k Ghc. You can always make a 50% down payment and the rest will be spread for you. Maximum spread time is 12 months.”
