You can use a computer screenshot for a variety of purposes. The list is vast and includes everything from rapidly demonstrating a problem you’re fixing to saving a picture of something you liked on the screen or by demonstrating how to do something.

But how to take a screenshot varies depending on the device and operating system. Additionally, Chromebooks have their own ways of taking screenshots.


A few years back, Google released a screenshot tool that enables you to record both photographs and videos of what is displayed on your Chromebook screen which helped a lot of users.

How To Take A Screenshot On Chromebook

You can capture a screenshot or a video of the display on your Chromebook. You can view, modify, delete, and share the image or video you shoot after you’ve done so. Follow the process below to take a screenshot on your chromebook.

  • You can use the Screenshot key on your Chromebook.
  • Choose Screenshot from the bottom menu. You must ensure the content you want to capture is on your screen.
  • Choose an option:
  • Snap a picture of the entire screen.
  • Create a portion of a screenshot.
  • Take a screenshot of the window.
  • A screenshot can also be taken using the menu in the bottom right.

How To Find recordings and screenshots on your Chromebook

A helpful hint is to press Shift + Ctrl + Show Windows to immediately copy screenshots and recordings to your clipboard.

Screenshots and recordings are downloaded to your “Downloads” folder. You can modify the location in which screenshots or recordings are stored:

Press the keys Shift, Ctrl, and Show Windows.
Choose Settings Settings at the bottom, followed by Select folder.
