A contact can be edited from your android device but not any contact can be edited on your android device, there are some certain contacts which when you try to edit, you will see a notification saying that it’s impossible to delete/edit because it’s a read-only contact. A read-only contact is any contact that can be read-only, no action can be done to it.

  • Open your contacts
  • Select your read only contact you want to edit
  • Tap on the 3 dots on your right upper hand side to open the menu bar
  • Tap on view linked contacts
  • Tap on unlink
  • Confirm the unlinking
  • Tap on the contact you unlinked again
  • Select edit to reedit it to a new location or even change the name.

*It cannot be deleted but only hided
