One thing that you must first consider when you have a new phone is not your network’s internet speed, but rather how to configure your smartphone’s internet connection before considering internet speed.
Internet usage has gained massive roots in our current dispensation and it has become more important to our daily lives than anything else, so we make every effort to stay active and connected online.
Vodafone APN Settings
We’d like to walk you through setting up your Vodafone APN internet on your phone in this article, so if you have any questions, they’ll be answered.
Do the following to configure your Vodafone APN internet settings on your phone:
For Android Users
- Locate and select Settings from your phone’s menu.
- Choose “Network & Internet.”
- Then choose “Mobile Network.”
- To add an access point, you must first select “Access Point Names.”
- Click the “plus” sign in the top right corner to add a new Vodafone internet settings APN and enter the following; APN: Access Point Name (Vodafone)
- To save settings, select “Save” from the drop-down menu in the top right corner.
For iPhone Users
- Navigate to and select Settings.
- Choose mobile data.
- Choose a mobile data network.
- Set the APN to ‘Internet’.
About Vodafone
Vodafone Ghana, formerly Ghana Telecom, is the country’s national telecommunications company. Vodacom Group, Africa’s leading mobile telecommunications company, owns the company in Ghana.
As of January 2020, it had approximately 9.3 million mobile voice subscribers, accounting for 13.81% of the Ghanaian market.
Vodafone announced on 3 July 2008 that it had agreed to purchase 70% of Ghana Telecom from the Ghanaian government for US$900 million, for a total enterprise value of approximately US$1.3 billion.
After the transaction was completed, Vodafone owned 70% of the company, while the Ghanaian government-owned 30%. The transaction was completed on August 17, 2008.
President John Agyekum Kufuor supported the sale, but the opposition party, which would win the presidential elections a few months later, was strongly opposed. After being elected president, John Atta Mills, the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), launched an investigation into the deal, claiming that the government “did not get value for money.”
Despite these claims, Vodafone would write down the value of its stake in Ghana Telecom by £250 million a few months later as the economic climate deteriorated, harming the company’s prospects.
Ghana Telecom and its mobile subsidiary OneTouch were rebranded as Vodafone Ghana on April 15, 2009.
