About UEW
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) was founded in September 1992 as a University College. The University College of Education of Winneba was given the status of a complete university on May 14, 2004, thanks to the enactment of the University of Education Act, Act 672.
Seven colleges that grant diplomas but are located in several towns were consolidated under the University College of Education of Winneba.
These colleges included the National Academy of Music, School of Ghana Languages, College of Special Education, Akwapim-Mampong, Advanced Technical Training College, Kumasi, and St. Andrews Agricultural Training College, Mampong-Ashanti.
The Advanced Teacher Training College, Specialist Training College, and National Academy of Music were all located in Winneba.
The Vice-office Chancellor’s is located at the three locations in Winneba presently known as the Winneba campus, with a satellite campus in Ajumako.
