How To Apply For Pre-MEST Program
MEST Ghana is inviting applications from interesting individuals being entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs to apply for their Pre-MEST program in Africa.
Pre-MEST, an early-stage training program by MEST in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, targets young entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs with the desire to build their technology and business acumen. By learning the new technical skills needed to start a successful company or add value to existing employers, Pre-MEST works to further improve the participants’ employability and add value to growing demand and interest in software entrepreneurship across Ghana.
About MEST Ghana
Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) is a Pan-African entrepreneurial training program, seed fund, tech incubator and hub.
The MEST program provides rigorous entrepreneurial training and extensive hands-on project work, designed to ensure Entrepreneurs-In-Training (EIT) master industry-proven methodologies for developing startups.
PreMEST program is designed to shape and develop your skills in technology and business, while giving you new technical skills needed to start a successful company or work to add value to already existing ones as an employee or freelancer.
How to apply for Pre-MEST Program online
To apply for the Pre-MEST program, just logon to the official registration website here: Apply Pre-MEST.
Enter your e-mail address, First name and Last name to get started — on the Pre-MEST application process.
Registration confirmation Status
After successful registration on the portal, you will be notified to check your e-mail address for more details. This will be like the one below;
Thank you for submitting your information. Please look-out for an email from [email protected]. This email will contain all the necessary information you need to kick-start the application process.
Pre-MEST will run four cohorts between September and December 2020. Each cohort will target 50 candidates from Ghana. The first and third cohorts will be held face to face, on-site in Accra while the second and fourth cohorts will be virtual, for candidates outside of the Greater Accra Region.
Program Calendar (2020)
Applications will be on a rolling basis. This means you will need to apply early enough to be considered for a cohort of your choice. During the application, you will be given the opportunity to choose a preferred cohort and second cohort of choice.

Cohort 3 (on-site) | Nov 2 – Nov 27

The Pre-MEST curriculum will combine face-to-face (on-site, virtual) classes with hands-on projects. Led in a bootcamp style, the participants develop relevant usable skills in technology and business. The Pre-MEST team will also give each cohort some learning work to complete before the program start date, to ensure they have the minimum skill levels to delve into projects and exercises from the first day.

- Front End Frameworks (e.g. React.js)
- Express Framework (for Node.js)
- Database (e.g MongoDB)
- Unit Testing
- Soft skills (CV writing, interviewing tips, collaboration tools etc.)
