Google Commits $800 Million To Fight Coronavirus.
Since the Coronavirus started spreading across the world, we have seen big companies, sports personnels and rich men committing resources in all forms to help combat the virus.
There’s no doubt to the fact that, the pandemic coronavirus has caused drop in revenue to some major tech companies such as; Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, Alibaba, and Google is not exceptional to this.
Though the spread of the global pandemic virus has caused drop in revenue to companies across the globe, a lot of big companies are making the effort to support in combating the coronavirus and its spread and Google is also stepping up to the plate to help — admittedly, in a smaller way.
The company is pledging to hand out over $800 million to help support organizations and businesses affected by coronavirus, including $250 million to the WHO and other government agencies, $200 million for NGOs and financial institutions, and a substantial $340 million Google Ads credit for small and mid-size businesses.
According to Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Alphabet, he stated that, there’s a commitment of $800M in new COVID-19 response effort and other things included to combat the virus.
Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai tweeted ‘We’re committing $800M+ in new #COVID19 response efforts, incl $340M in @GoogleAds credits for SMBs worldwide, $250M in ad grants for @WHO & 100+ govt orgs globally, a $200M investment fund for NGOs & banks to help small businesses access capital, and more’
In addition, Pichai wrote, “Together, we’ll continue to help our communities—including our businesses, educators, researchers and nonprofits—navigate the challenges ahead.”
As we can all see how the pandemic coronavirus has effected major tech companies across the world, a lot of actions are being placed to combat the virus and Ghana too has taken its action to fight the pandemic virus.
